Aquamarine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 78 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, crooked trunk covered in smooth, brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of huge, circular leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are lime green with pastel orange tips.

In early spring, it produces several giant, vibrant green blossoms with spear shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like leather.

In early winter it produces small, finger-like fruit. The fuzzy aquamarine skin is peel-able and inedible, and the crunchy olive flesh is sweet and juicy. The pale red seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
