Azurefern

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 109 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, twisting stems covered in cracked, light brown bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are long and thick with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, stiff, pointed, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either azure or beige, with brown patches, hardy and leathery.

It produces several giant, dark grey flowers with heart-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have an intense scent that smells like perfume. In late autumn it forms medium-sizedgentle red, tough-shelled seeds.


It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
