Bronzeberry

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This massive shrub grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for around 43 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several stocky, angular stems covered in very thick, ridged, silver bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, needle-like, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are caramel with yellow tips, tough and soft.

In late summer it produces copious amounts of small, caramel blossoms with spear shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like coffee.

In mid-autumn tiny asymmetrical fruits ripen. The leathery bronze skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy bronze flesh is spicy and sour and powdery. The light brown seeds are small and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

It is suitable for making paper
