Speckled White Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized tree grows up to 10 meters (32.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 125 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in thick, waxy, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is yellow-brown.
The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with large amounts of covered in fine hairs, huge, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are cream on the sides and turquoise at the center.
In late summer it forms small, orange, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
