Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In rainy mountain ranges, and On trees.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly frail.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release dozens of spores.
