Caramel

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 149 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several very thick, wonky stems covered in waxy, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of large, perforated, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are grey at the bottom and lime with caramel splotches at the top, flimsy and sticky.

In mid-summer it produces a thick sheet of giant, bold yellow flowers with 5 spiral shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like meat.
