This copper moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps On trees, In rainforests, and In bogs.
It is large, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps are slow to spread and grow, and is very frail.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
