Bloodvine

This big caudiciform grows up to 78 feet (23.8 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is blood red or orange, and is covered in lots of flexible orange spines. It has a curved, very thick, black trunk atop a thick block of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are bulbous and moss green and are short, rigid and upright.

The wavy-edged, thin leaves are dark brown and sky blue. They are strong, but do not detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 27 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are crimson at the sides and muted orange at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. It has a strong scent that smells like cheese.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the purple flesh is leathery, and the copper sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
