Magenta Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is yellow and cream, and is covered in brittle washed-out red spines. The jagged-edged, thin leaves are bronze and magenta. Copious amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are light, but take some effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 25 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are magenta on the edges and subtle blue at the center, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with 35 raised round-tipped petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like wet dog.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the cyan flesh is leathery, and the orange sap is thin.
