Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 21 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, straight trunk covered in knobbly, light brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is black.
The tangled mess of branches are very short and thick and are covered with small bunches of large, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in white and silver varieties.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of large, magenta blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like soap.
In early summer it produces , 8 pointed fruit. The fuzzy purple skin is thin and edible when roasted; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy magenta flesh is sweet and very dry. The black seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
