Blueleaf Ferncling

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 43 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous flexible, wavy stems covered in hard, ridged, black bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, spear shaped, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue on the edges and amber at the center, resilient and soft.

In early summer it produces thousands of small, hazel flowers with fan-like petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
