Aquamarine Moss

This brown or aquamarine moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs, On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very delicate.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
