Coniapple Tree
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)This big fruit tree grows up to 21 feet (6.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 38 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in hard, cracked, dark brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is silver.
The tangled mess of branches are very short and slender and are covered with copious amounts of huge, wispy leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid amber with magenta streaks.
In early spring, it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, orange blossoms with perforated petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like coffee.
In late summer it produces , long, tapering fruit. The fuzzy amber skin is stretchy and sweet, and the slightly crunchy beige flesh is bitter and savoury and powdery. The red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for making paper
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
