Dark Brown Moss

This dark brown and slate moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In rainy mountain ranges, In moorlands, and In marshes.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is very sturdy.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
