Blackberry Sage

This small leaf succulent grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is lime green, and is covered in brittle grey spines. The pointed leaves are solid black with white edges. Small bunches of them grow on wide, slate branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are flimsy, but detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 9 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are dark brown in the center, cyan in the middle and yellow at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. It has a faint scent that smells like rotting meat.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the faded purple flesh is smooth, and the magenta sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
