Caramel

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 35 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in thick, silky, dark gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, broad, flat leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either caramel or turquoise, with cyan streaks.

In early spring, it produces a handful of medium-sized, copper blossoms with fan-like petals. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like petrol.

In late autumn it produces large, oval fruit. The waxy black skin is thin and inedible, and the soft dull purple flesh is sweet and juicy. The olive seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
