Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, twisting trunk covered in cracked, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown-grey.

The excessive amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, thick leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in green, amber and brilliant blue varieties.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, sky blue blossoms with finger-like petals. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like something putrid.

In early summer it produces , asymmetrical fruit. The fuzzy gold skin is delicate and inedible, and the crunchy cyan flesh is spicy and syrupy. The lime seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
