Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly rigid.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
