This copper moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In damp forests, and In rainforests.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is extremely resilient.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores.

It is often referred to as the most beautiful of all flowers.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The sap is brown.
