Bloodvine

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 22 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in fine, rough, dark gray bark, and inside, the light wood is pine-coloured.

The abundance of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of small, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are grey and blood red.

In early spring, it produces thousands of large, violet blossoms with circular shaped petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like misty mornings.

In early winter it produces tiny, circular fruit. The smooth lime skin is delicate and inedible, and the crunchy magenta flesh is very sweet and very juicy. The black seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

The entire plant is edible and the grains areoverwhelmingly sweet.
