Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stems grow in bunches of 3 and are thin with a curved tip, and the tiny, lime green leaves are dark lime green on the underside and are thin with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 13 cm (5.1 inches) wide, with peach petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of 6 petals in raised layers. They fall easily.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like a newborn baby, and it has copious amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.


The sap is edible and extremely spicy.
