Golden Violet

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gold stem is very thin, and the tiny, grey leaves are dark red on the underside and are sickle shaped with irregular edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Many medium-sized flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with violet petals and a red central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 26 petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like fish, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
