Citrus Willow

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, twisting trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, yellow bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale brown-grey.

The sparse amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of small, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in olive and peach varieties.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, black blossoms with fan-like petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like citrus.

In early summer it produces tiny, stiff, pointed fruit. The hairy aquamarine skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy azure flesh is salty and juicy. The green seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
