Bloodstone Succulent

This short caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stem is brown, and is covered in dozens of rigid beige spines. The angular, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Its emerald branches are short, thin and wispy and start growing at the top the stem.

The handfuls of ripped-edged, circular leaves are peach at the bottom and dark orange with dark brown streaks at the top. They are resistant, but detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally azure; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 44 petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like sweat.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the gentle purple flesh is waxy, and the red sap is thin.
