Silvervine
Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 395 feet (120.4 meters) and growing as high as 114 feet (34.7 meters).
It takes 5 years for the silver stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and fibrous.
The stiff, pointed, sticky leaves reach up to 2.9 feet (89 cm) in length. They are either grey, or purple with gentle blue edges, and have rounded edges.
During late spring, the bine produces thick bunches of average dull green flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces lots of tiny seed pods.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It can flourish even in standing water.
