Brown Crescent Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas In bogs, On trees, and In heathlands.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly sturdy.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores.
