Crimson Vine

This giant shrub grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 179 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several slender, straight stems covered in thick, cracked, light brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with small amounts of giant, long, narrow, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are orange and vibrant red, robust and fuzzy.

It produces thick bunches of small, olive flowers with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like lemon. In late spring it forms smallcream seed pods.
