Caramel

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in delicate, smooth, dark gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is dark brown.

The sparse amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of large, very thick leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are caramel on the edges and white at the center.

In early spring, it produces thousands of tiny, gentle purple blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.

In early winter it produces small, oval fruit. The sticky light yellow skin is peel-able and bitter, and the soft light brown flesh is bitter and juicy. The gold seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
