Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small caudiciform grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The thick stem is lime green, and is covered in lots of flexible green spines. The thick, green trunk can grow to as much as 11 feet (3.4 meters) in diameter. Its grey or orange branches are tall, rigid and upright.
The wavy-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are solid bronze with muted red patches. They are delicate, but easily come away when pulled.
It is slow growing, taking 46 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid sky blue petals and a light brown central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has the faintest scent that smells like misty mornings.
The caudiciform's skin is thin, the hazel flesh is rough, and the cream sap is thin.
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
