Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 65 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is pine-coloured.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with handfuls of large, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are slate with black tips.

In early spring, it produces several small, hazel blossoms with pleated petals. They are sturdy and have no scent.

In late summer it produces small, oval fruit. The smooth olive skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy sky blue flesh is salty and juicy. The olive seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
