Burgundy Shrub

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 190 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several knobbly, curved stems covered in thick, cracked, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, perforated, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid amber or brown, with olive patches, delicate and covered in fine hairs.

In mid-spring it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, brown flowers with flame-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like candle wax.
