Bloodfire Cactus

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is silver, and is dotted with small white spines. The jagged-edged, 9 pointed leaves are found in blood red and blue varieties. Very large amounts of them grow from the base in random directions. The leaves are strong, but detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are indigo on the edges and blood red at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 57 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. It has a strong scent that smells like cotton.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the aquamarine flesh is rough, and the beige sap is thin.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
The sap causes itchiness of the skin
