Brownfern

This brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps On rotten logs.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly flexible.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
