Brown Bog Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In bogs, In damp forests, and In heathlands.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is extremely rigid; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
