Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainforests, and On rotten logs.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly hardy.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
