Bloodvine

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This giant leaf succulent grows up to 128 feet (39.0 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is red, and is covered in thick bunches of fine, blood red, hair-like spines. The finger-like leaves are slate at the bottom and purple with grey dots at the top. Very large amounts of them grow on thin, burgundy branches that are tall, rigid and upright. The leaves are hardy, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 17 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are either peach or silver, with a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 59 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like onion.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the faded blue flesh is rough, and the light brown sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.

It comes in 14 varieties, each with a different petal colour.
