Twining Whipvine
Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small bine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 14 feet (4.3 meters) and growing as high as 375 feet (114.3 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.
It takes 9 months for the yellow-green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are rough and fibrous.
The thick, smooth leaves reach up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length. They are found in blood red and blue varieties, and have irregular edges.
During late spring, the bine produces lots of colossal caramel flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of small fruits.
A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
