Crimson Petal
Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its red stem is thin, and the giant, amber leaves are broad, flat with toothed edges. 5 leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Each stem splits 6 to 8 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are intense purple on the underside and blood red on the top. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.
It has a weak scent that smells like damp, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
