Crimson Leaf

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 159 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of thick, straight stems covered in thin, silky, dark green bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright that and are covered with small amounts of large, long, narrow, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either gold or blood red, with red edges, hardy and waxy.

In mid-spring it produces dozens of medium-sized, silver flowers with fan-like petals. They are very delicate and have a faint scent that smells like onion.
