Crimson Tear Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On rotten logs.
It is huge, growing up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and can spread and grow quickly, and is slightly delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores.
