Crimsonvine

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) tall. Its lime green stem is thin and splits into 7 branching stems at the top, and the large, moss green leaves are light silver on the underside and are wispy with jagged edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Dozens of small flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with solid red petals decorated with crimson lines and a olive central disk. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of raised narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like soap, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
