Burgundy Vine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 28 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, angular stems covered in thin, cracked, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches are very long and thin that and are covered with handfuls of large, long, tapering, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are faded yellow on the sides and yellow at the center, rigid and leathery.

It produces copious amounts of tiny, amber flowers with finger-like petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like bleach. In late spring it forms smallcream aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
