Turquoise

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 70 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, curved trunk covered in thin, rough, brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with small bunches of tiny, slender, pointed leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid turquoise with blood red dots.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, sky blue blossoms with 4 pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like burning wood.

In early summer it produces , oval fruit. The soft green skin is tough and sweet and salty, and the soft faded yellow flesh is sweet and very juicy. The brown seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
