Black Moss

This black moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On rotten logs, In heathlands, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is giant, growing up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is extremely light; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release dozens of spores.

The sap causes severe rashes
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
