Greyfruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 61 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thick, cracked, yellow bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The thick clumps of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, pleated leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red, or light grey with slate splotches.

In early spring, it produces thousands of giant, light grey blossoms with 9 triangular shaped petals. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like sugar.

In early autumn it produces , star-shaped fruit. The waxy peach skin is thin and inedible, and the soft light grey flesh is savoury and sticky. The light grey seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
