Blueberry

This large fruit tree grows up to 35 feet (10.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, twisting trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, brown-green bark, and inside, the soft wood is brown.

The small handful of branches are short stubs and are covered with thick bunches of small, perforated leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are florescent blue and magenta.

In early spring, it produces many balls of medium-sized, beige blossoms with circular petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like varnish.

In mid-autumn it produces , spherical fruit. The hairy hazel skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is sweet and sour, and the slightly crunchy light grey flesh is sour and syrupy. The bright orange seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
