Silverblood
Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its silver stem is wispy and splits into 5 branching stems at the top, and the miniature, gray-green leaves are very narrow and elongated with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.
Around 70 large flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of dark grey. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.
It has a strong scent that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
