Ashy Green Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This colossal leaf succulent grows up to 121 feet (36.9 meters) tall. The pleated stem is gray, and is dotted with small white spines. The wavy-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are lime green with ashy green tips. Small amounts of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 3, then 6, then 9, and so on. The leaves are light, and take little effort to detach.
It is very slow growing, taking 28 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are silver at the sides and pink at the center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 34 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. It has a delicate scent that smells like burning wood.
The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the cyan flesh is waxy, and the red sap is thin.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
