Aquamarine

This large fruit tree grows up to 37 feet (11.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 61 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black with white speckles.

The abundance of branches are long and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, asymmetrical leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine at the bottom and olive with brown zig-zags at the top.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, white blossoms with needle-like petals. They detach easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like musk.

In early summer it produces tiny, broad, flat fruit. The leathery yellow skin is tough and spicy, and the crunchy slate flesh is bitter and oily. The silver seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
