Crimson Starburst Cactus

This small cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 needle-like stems. Each stem is yellow-green, and is covered in large amounts of fine, crimson, hair-like spines.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with olive petals that gradient shift to lime on the outer edge. The central disk is white grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is shaped like a star with 60 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like freshly baked bread.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the turquoise flesh is waxy, and the yellow sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
